Understanding Neurodiverse Assessments

Thorough evaluations of a child’s behavioral, social, and developmental characteristics. These assessments aim to identify and understand specific cognitive and behavioral patterns associated with each condition. For ADHD, assessments typically examine attention span, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, while ASD assessments focus on social interaction, communication skills, and repetitive behaviors. By pinpointing strengths and challenges early on, these assessments guide personalized intervention plans that support the child’s unique needs and promote their overall well-being and development.

Types of assessments:

  • Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule Second Edition (ADOS-2)
  • Behaviour Assessment System For Children (BASC-3)
  • Conners Comprehensive Behavior Rating Scales, Fourth Edition (CONNERS-4)

  •  Behaviour Rating Inventory Of Execution Function, Second Edition (Brief-2)

Understanding Cognitive Assessments

Standardised tools used to evaluate an individual’s cognitive abilities, such as memory, attention, reasoning, and problem-solving skills. These assessments are designed to measure various aspects of intellectual functioning and are administered in a structured manner by our psychologists. By analysing performance on tasks and comparing results to age and population norms, cognitive assessments provide valuable insights into an individual’s strengths and weaknesses. They are used in clinical settings to diagnose cognitive impairments, learning disabilities, and developmental disorders, as well as in educational settings to inform instructional strategies and support services. Overall, cognitive assessments play a critical role in understanding and enhancing cognitive functioning across different stages of life.

Type of Assessments:

  • Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V).
  • Wechsler Individual Achievement Test (WIAT-III)
  • Weschler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS-IV).
